What is a construction NVQ Level 2?

A Level 2 NVQ is the qualification that proves you are competent at skilled worker level in your trade. It is for people already working in their trade, typically with two or three years on site.

There is no classroom and no college course: a DMR Training assessor builds the evidence with you on site, while you carry on working and earning.

Your blue CSCS card

Completing a Level 2 NVQ unlocks the blue CSCS Skilled Worker card, the card most main contractors expect skilled workers to hold. Years on the tools but no paperwork? The experienced worker route keeps you working while you qualify.

Funding and employers

CITB registered employers can claim a £600 grant for every employee or contractor who completes an NVQ from Level 2 to 7, and you may be eligible for other NVQ funding depending on your trade and region. Qualifying a whole workforce? Contact our team.

Where next after Level 2?

Many of our learners move on to a Level 3 NVQ, which unlocks the gold CSCS Supervisor card and the supervisory roles that come with it.
