Turn the years you’ve already spent on the roof into a
nationally recognised qualification.
Assessed onsite, on your terms. No exams to sit, no time off work, no travel.
If you’ve got two or three years on the tools and you’re ready to make it official, a Roofing NVQ is the straightforward way to get your CSCS Skilled Worker card and start going after the work that actually pays. Roofing NVQs and Construction NVQs more broadly are what contractors look for when they want proof you know what you’re doing, not just that you’ve sat through a course.
We’ve been doing this since 2013. Our assessors aren’t desk-bound academics. They’re experienced tradespeople who’ve spent decades on roofs themselves. They come to you, watch you do what you already do, and put your portfolio together around your actual day-to-day work.

Over 1,000 construction NVQs delivered since 2013, across 25+ trades.

Most of our roofing assessors have 10+ years on the tools. They’ve been where you are.

Multiple Awarding Bodies

CSCS Card
Your CSCS card. Level 2 unlocks the blue Skilled Worker card. Level 3 unlocks the gold Supervisory card. Nationwide identification for on-site work
Compliant Work
Tier 1 and PAS-compliant work. Main contractors and ECO4 / PAS 2030 / PAS 2035 retrofit schemes increasingly insist on formally qualified operatives
Salary Increase
Bigger jobs and better day rates. A formal qualification quietly raises what you can charge for and where you can work.
Our Roofing NVQs are built for working roofers who want a qualification that reflects what they already do well. You don’t need a classroom, a textbook, or a day off site. You need an assessor who’ll sign off the work in front of them.
Unsure? Give us a ring. The call usually takes ten minutes.
A roofing NVQ proves your competence to clients, main contractors and CSCS. It unlocks the right card for your level (blue at Level 2, gold at Level 3, black at Level 6), opens up Tier 1 sub-contracting and PAS 2030 / 2035 retrofit work, and quietly raises your day rate. It’s also the qualification you now need in place of the old Industry Accreditation route.
Yes, for a lot of roofing employers it’s the reason they get in touch. Main contractors and retrofit schemes are tightening up on the qualifications they’ll accept on site, and an NVQ at the right level is the standard proof of occupational competence. If you’re aiming at solar PV, room-in-roof insulation, or whole-house retrofit projects, talk to us about which pathway fits.
A qualified DMR assessor with real industry experience, most of our roofing assessors have been on the tools themselves for ten years or more. They visit you onsite, observe the work you’re already doing, and build the evidence around it.
Yep. We’ve supported plenty of learners with dyslexia and other learning differences, and we build the support in from day one, not as an afterthought. The Q&A coursework pack can be handwritten, typed or recorded verbally, whichever works best for you.
CITB-registered employers can claim a grant of £600 for every employee or contractor who completes an NVQ Level 2 to 7. You can find more information on the CITB website.
Government NVQ funding is available for roofers who meet specific criteria. Please get in touch with us to find out if you are eligible for funding or visit our Funding & Grants page.
When you have completed your NVQ portfolio, our internal verification team will check it for compliance. They will then claim your certificate with NOCN. Once we have received your certificate from the awarding body, we will forward it to you by recorded delivery. This process usually takes between two and four weeks.
On your jobs. We deliver across England, so wherever in the country you’re working, your assessor will come to site to observe you and gather evidence. There’s no classroom, no exam hall, and no travel for you
Yes, if you need a CSCS card while you are doing your qualification, you can apply for the Experienced Worker card. You can request this card as soon as we have enrolled you on the NVQ (you will also need to pass the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test).
To apply for the temporary card, we will email you your proof of enrolment which you must submit to CSCS.
You will then upgrade to the Skilled Worker card once you have finished the qualification.
