We now offer Plant Operations NVQ assessment for experienced workers
Plant operators can now take their Plant Operations NVQ Level 2 with us at DMR Training. We’ve recently added it to our ever-growing list of construction trades that we assess through the onsite assessment and training route (OSAT).
Having successfully delivered nearly 1000 construction-related NVQs since 2013, we’re taking an excellent track record into this new field.
Who is it for?
NVQ Level 2 onsite assessment in Plant Operations can be taken by plant operators with a minimum of three years’ experience in their trade. Achieving your NVQ demonstrates your occupational competence to a specific level and is one of the four steps in applying for your CPCS Card (see below).
How is it assessed?
The qualification requires at least one onsite assessment where your assessor will observe you in your place of work. Other aspects of the NVQ involve collecting work-based evidence and completing a pack of knowledge-based questions. Your assessor will guide you through every step of the NVQ via phone calls, emails and face-to-face meetings. Work-based evidence can include:
- Witness testimonies
- Employer endorsements
- Job cards
- Recorded discussions with your assessor
To complete your NVQ in Plant Operations, you do not need to attend a training centre or college. There is no classroom learning involved.
How much does it cost?
As of April 2019, our introductory offer for Level 2 NVQ assessment in Plant Operations is £795 + VAT. We accept a two-part payment plan: 50% upfront and 50% on completion of the qualification. Please contact us to check our latest rates.
Can I get my CPCS Card?
Your Plant Operations NVQ is one of four steps towards applying for your CPCS Blue Competent Operator Card. The other three steps involve:
- Passing the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test.
- Passing the CPCS theory test.
- Achieving the CPCS practical test.
Although DMR doesn’t deliver the above tests at our training centre, we can recommend other training centres and help you with the booking process. The CPCS Card is administered by NOCN – you can find out more about the application process on the NOCN website.
When can I start and how long will it take?
You can start your Plant Operations NVQ as soon as you’re ready. On average, an NVQ Level 2 taken through the onsite assessment route takes between two and three months to complete. Call us today on 01942 673047 to speak to one of our advisors or use our contact form to send us a message and we’ll get back in touch with you within 24 hours.
