Who is this qualification suitable for and what are the entry requirements?
Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment is suitable for anyone working as a labourer in the construction industry, or planning to start work as a labourer. Completing this course and passing the CITB Health, Safety & Environment test (operatives version) makes you eligible to apply for your CSCS Labourers card.

This qualification is awarded by Proqual.
Where is it and how long does it take?
This is a one-day course. Individual applicants can attend our coworking space â Thread and Yard â in Leigh. Construction companies booking multiple places for their employees or subcontractors can choose between using their own facilities, and Thread and Yard. We also have outdoor space when the weather is nice.
What will I learn?
Youâll learn about the principles of health and safety in the construction environment including topics such as risks assessments and method statements, common causes of injury, hazards and risks in construction and safe manual handling. What type of learning environment is it?
This course is delivered in a classroom setting using slide shows, an instructor, and textbooks. At the end of the course, you will take a short test covering everything you learned throughout the day.

As well as the Level 1 Award, do I need to do anything else to get my CSCS Labourers card?
To get your CSCS green card, youâll also need to pass your CITB Health, Safety & Environment test (operatives version). We donât include the CITB test as part of our one-day course, but we can help you book the test, and provide guidance on revision material.
