DMR is fast becoming known as the construction training provider for specialist areas. DMR believes that success in bridging skills gaps is not achieved simply by offering more of the same, but by identifying and offering the correct type of training which could be missing and by delivering apprenticeships that are more suited to modern methods of working. It is too easy to assume that skills gaps are just caused by lack of applicants for trades, whereas they can in fact be caused by gaps in training provision – so as a training provider we are keen to bridge such gaps.
Within Plastering and Dry Lining there are a number of frameworks which can be delivered but DMR has found that Apprenticeships and NVQs using the traditional Plastering framework cover elements which are rarely used in the modern workplace and don’t place enough emphasis on new materials and systems that are now commonly in use. This makes it more difficult to train and assess certain skills, which can potentially hold learners back and delay their progression or qualification.
DMR prefers to promote the Interior Systems frameworks (Dry Lining Fixing and Finishing) as the ones more appropriate to the tasks carried out by modern-day operatives and the skills required to do so. By adopting more suitable frameworks DMR aims to fill the skills gaps left by the older, more traditional qualifications.
DMR has the ability to tailor training provision to the specific needs of each employer and doesn’t subscribe to the philosophy that ‘one size fits all’. So if you find that the training provision you currently have access to is falling short of what you need then speak to DMR, we’ll find a skills solution for your business.
